Solvent base paints

  • Solvent-based paints, also known as oil-based or alkyd paints, use organic solvents such as mineral spirits, xylene, or toluene as their primary carrier. They are widely used due to their excellent durability, chemical resistance, and strong film formation. These paints perform well in harsh environments and on surfaces where water-based coatings may fail
  • High-Gloss Alkyd Finishes These provide a smooth, reflective finish with superior flow and leveling. Applications: decorative wood, metal railings, vehicles, and equipment. Drying Time: tack-free in 3–5 hours; full cure within 24 hours. Application: spraying or brushing in thin coats for maximum gloss.
  • Anti-Corrosive Metal Primers These include red oxide primers, zinc-phosphate primers, and zinc-chromate primers. Their purpose is to protect steel and iron from rust. Applications: structural steel, pipelines, tanks, heavy machinery. Drying Time: touch-dry in 1–3 hours; overcoating after 6–8 hours. Application: typically by brush or spray after removing rust, grease, and old loose coatings.
  • Industrial Synthetic Paints These paints are formulated for heavy-duty protection where resistance to chemicals, abrasion, and humidity is required. Applications: industrial plants, warehouses, marine equipment, and exterior metal structures. Drying Time: surface-dry in 2–4 hours; full cure in 18–36 hours. Application: airless spray for large steel surfaces; brushing for small repairs.
